PORCELAIN
Porcelain is gaining in popularity for its beauty and luxurious high-end looks. With some patterns that replicate rare calacatta marbles without the maintenance, it’s a very appealing option for your design. It is a man-made product that is kiln baked and will only have a glazed surface pattern. This material is best used for wall cladding and/or flooring applications. But, if you are considering it as a countertop option, this material comes in thinner slabs than your typical granite or quartz slabs. If you are thinking of using it as a countertop option, we would recommend adding mitered edge detail to continue the pattern and give the illusion of a standard counter thickness. Porcelain has many benefits such as, stain resistant, heat resistant, chemical resistant, UV resistant, and its maintenance free. But, beware of chips, cracks, and scratches! With the pattern only being surface level, repairs may and will most likely still be noticeable.
